Z900 Recall - Rear Shock Absorber Mount (MC 17-04)
on: November 15, 2017, 04:13:22 PM
Hey guys just got this email from Kawasaki

"Dear Kawasaki owner,

Our records show that you are the owner of the Kawasaki product detailed above. Kawasaki's continuous product quality monitoring has identified that a potential safety problem exists on your machine and we have initiated a recall to repair it.

On 2017 and some 2018 models of Z900 (ZR900B), the holes in the rear shock absorber tie-rod frame mounts can become elongated if the rear shock absorber bottoms out.

To overcome this problem Kawasaki has initiated a recall campaign to inspect theframe and add additional bracing brackets. In rare cases the frame will need to be replaced. The inspection and bracket installation will take around 50 minutes to complete and your dealer will advise you if further work is required.

Your Kawasaki dealer will carry out the necessary work at no cost to you. It is very important that you have this done so please contact them as soon as possible to arrange an appointment. To find your nearest dealer go to www.kawasaki.co.uk.

If you no longer own the machine detailed in this email, please reply to customerservice@kawasaki.co.uk to advise us of any changes.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we have taken this action in the interests of your safety and continued satisfaction with our product. If you have any questions, please contact your Kawasaki dealer or Kawasaki Customer Service 01628 856750 / customerservice@kawasaki.co.uk."

not sure what to make of it, dont own the Z900 anymore but for those of you who do get in touch with your dealer

Just got my recall as well. Should be able to pop to the dealer tomorrow to see when they can do the work.

Major bummer but had loads of Kawasakis and this is the first recall so not too bothered.

Yea not too bad if it only takes 50mins for the repair, only problem is that it could take longer if other problems show up especially if the frame needs changing lol

Same here.  :003:
I was expecting a letter rather than an email though.

Tighten it 'til it strips then back it off half a turn.

You would think the dealers would be contacted first if they have an upcoming recall..seems weird the customers are notified before the dealers who sell and will be servicing the bikes.....

I wonder what it looks like?
Will it match frame colour?
