I have used 3M's 1080p carbon wrap on my cars black plastic bits and after two years and winter road salt it is holding up very well.  I plan to wrap some plastic pieces on the z like the rear mud gaurd.  Here is the one on the cars rear valence and it is very close to the exhaust. Its dirty right now as it's winter and road salt on it. But wrap is way cheaper than replacing it.

Also the 1080p carbon comes in multi colors. I have used cheaper non 3M stuff, don't waste your money on them they are inferior to the 3M stuff.

Ive got the heel guards on mine. Installed them in early February and have roughly 2000 miles on em. No signs of wear yet.
