All it proves is everyone's needs / wants are different and we all have different opinions. A healthy debate is a great way to learn new things and look at a subject from another's point of view. No-one appears to have got upset and certainly no-one has called anyone names nor (IMO) derided anyone. A good healthy, robust debate in my book.

No I have never had a cruise control on my motorcycles, although if I keep the Z900 I may fit one in the future as I do tour on mine. I have never owned a bike with a quickshift although I have test ridden a Ninja 1000 with a QS and yes I tried it out. For the type of riding I do I could not see any benefit in it hence my opinion of them. As to it being fun I don't race nor do I pretend to race on public roads, I haven't done track days and therefore cannot see the fun in having something that when used can damage the gearbox. Yes I have read forum posts where fitting and using a QS has broken gearboxes.

That is my 2c worth.

 It blew through the travel far too easily and the rebound damping at factory settings would try to hold it down. Eventually it would jack down over repeated bumps. I had to adjust it to close to the minimum number of (48?) clicks to prevent jacking down. Obviously that didn't stop it bottoming out. As well as being under sprung I suspect the fixed ratio of rebound/compression damping was off. Not enough compression and far to much rebound. That's a guess though.
 What really killed my love was the way the ride quality and control would diminish after 30 mins or so of riding. It was verging on dangerous to be honest.
 I emailed the supplier with my issues. I was quite willing to work with M-Factory to get it sorted out but they just sent me a return shipping label, back to France, and a (eventually) a refund.

 Had a Maxton single leg cartridge/spring conversion too. Very good. Recommended on a VFM basis. I expect their double leg cartridge conversions would be pretty amazing.
